Today, you will arrive at the Muscat International Airport in Oman. Our representative will meet you at the airport and take you on a brief tour of the capital city of Muscat before transferring you to your hotel in the city.

Your day tour of Muscat will begin with a photo stopover at the world’s fifth largest mosque, the Sultan Qaboos Mosque. Then, you will pass the embassy quarters and reach the stunning Royal Opera House. Also, tour the Al Alam Palace and its two Portuguese Forts, the Al Mirani and Al Jalali; and enjoy a drive alongside the cornice that will lead you to the oldest ‘souk’ or marketplace in the country, the Muttrah Souk. After an enjoyable shopping stint at the souk, you will be transferred to your hotel in Muscat.

Today, start your journey by exploring the aromatic world of the Amouage perfume factory in Muscat. Discover the wide variety of aromatic incenses at the Amouage factory before leaving for the Hajjar Mountains. Discover untouched natural and cultural beauty in the brief stopover at the charming quaint village of Birkat al Mauz. Soak in the beautiful views of the village, which is surrounded by banana and date trees. Restart your journey and drive up to the ‘green mountain’, the Jebel Akhdar, which is located about 2000 m above sea level. 

 

You will go on a day tour of the ancient city of Nizwa. Start your day’s journey with a visit to a local traditional ‘souq’ or a market place that has different speciality sections. Shop to your heart’s content at this souq, which is famous for traditional silver jewellery and handmade daggers, locally known as khanjars. Follow it up with a visit to the Nizwa Fort, which is a 17th century castle with a large cylindrical tower. Continue your journey and proceed for the mystical city of Bahla, which contains one of Oman’s four UNESCO designated World Heritage Sites. At Bahla, explore the Bahla Fort. Proceed for the day’s final destination – the beautiful historical castle in the country, the Jabreen castle. The best way to discover the beauty and history of the castle is to explore its interiors while you guider narrates the tragic story of the life of its builder, Immam Bil’arub bin Sultan.

Today, you will travel out of the ancient city of Nizwa and proceed towards the desert. During the journey, notice the dramatic change in the scenic views of the surroundings from Nizwa to the desert.

Your first stopover for the day will be Ibra. At Ibra, explore the town’s oldest part and its traditional local ‘souq’ – the traditional women’s market that is held every Wednesdays. As you drive further towards the desert, have a short stopover at the Wadi Bani Khalid, which is popular with tourists for its scenic views and its natural pools. Drive further to reach the top of the sand dunes.

Post breakfast, start the day’s journey with a trip to the hidden desert city of Al Kamil. After visiting the stunning renovated fort of Al Kamil, continue your journey and drive along the coast to the former trading city of Sur. Sur was considered one of the most important trading cities in the ancient times. Take a look at the traditional wooden ships called ‘Dhows’ that are still made by hand by the locals. Explore the dhow factory and the dhow museum.

Today, you will start the day by departing Sur and driving along the coast to reach Muscat. On the way, enjoy a stroll through the Wadi Tiwi and take a small detour to soak in the magnificent scenic views and the cool natural water pools of Wadi Al Arbaeen. Thereafter, reach the Muscat International Airport and board your onward flight to UK with sweet memories.
